Benchmade 940-1 on the way!

Just ordered mine from knife center...anyone else got there's in yet? Very excited about this knife, last bm I'll be buying for a while.
 
Got mine in. Don't really like the difference in balance compared to the aluminum, but it's not a deal-breaker by any stretch, and of course the S90v is nice. I got mine for ~$170 shipped, and it's definitely worth it at that price IMO (but I love the 940 pattern)
 
Interested to hear how the factory edge comes. BM isn't know for delivering scary sharp knives consistently and the thought of have to sharpen a s90v blade with a crappy factory edge is not too appealing.

Direct from BM. They do good mil discounts

There are a number of posts of people getting it in the $200-$220 range, though, so one doesn't necessarily have to settle for MAP

Mine was definitely sharp but probably 50+ degrees inclusive. Compared to the factory edge, sharpening it down to 30* over doubled the height of the edge.

DMT blue/red stone ripped right through it in no time though.

$170 shipped?!! Dealers are supposed to sell them at or above Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) which is $263.50 for the Benchmade 940-1.

Also, there's a substantial related thread on the BF Benchmade Forum: 940-1's are shipping now..................
