I received my Benchmade 940-1 in the mail yesterday that i purchased from another forum member. Wow! this knife is a looker. I already love the shape and ergonomics of the knife so much.

Immediately upon getting it, I proceeded to take the knife apart. It was in very good condition as described in the post i bought it from, although it was pretty damn dirty. The only concerns I have are a slight surface rust on the stainless liners right around the axis mechanism. And like many Benchmades I've read about, the centering is poor for a knife this expensive. No worries though because Benchmade has killer customer service and I'm sure I could get them to fix it for me.

All in all Im really happy with this purchase and for $190 I feel I got the knife for a steal.

Good deal on the 940-1, but the centering adjustment and cleanup of the innards should be a priority for a knife that costs so much. Their CS number is 800-800-7427 if you have any questions. Good luck!

Thanks. I'll probably send it to Benchmade within a week. I cleaned the insides real well, i just couldn't get that surface rust to come off.

Congratulations on an awesome blade. I also got mine used for a smoking good trade. The blade grind was bad and the edge grind was the worst I've ever seen from the factory. I sent it back to Benchmade and they replaced the blade, all screws including the pivot and replaced the Omega Springs. When I got it back it looked like a brand-new knife. Benchmade's customer service is second to none. Send it in and they will take care of you.
