I'm leaning towards the 0350. After weighing the pros and cons. I think that would be a better choice, for the short hiking trips I would like to use it for. Probably strap it to my pack. so not too worried about weight. Can someone tell me, why the benchmade 940 might be better for this use.

wow, completely different knives there.

The 940 has a long, thin blade. I always feel like I am carrying a straight razor in my pocket when I have it on me (one of the reasons I like it, actually).
It is a great design, light, thin, and unobtrusive, but I would consider it a light to medium duty blade. It is not the first knife I would pocket when going on a hike.

The 0350 looks like a spade next to the 940. It is a more robust knife, and with that comes extra size and weight. It is not the first knife I would pocket when going to the office.

They are both well made and well designed knives, and I am a big fan of the 940, but I would think the 0350 would better suit your stated purpose.

Wow!!! These are completely different knives. It's hard to compare the both for what you are saying you want to do. They are both great, but very different. For hiking and the like I would probably go for the ZT 0350. For normal EDC (every day carry) you could do either, but the Benchmade 940 is much lighter and slimmer in the pocket.

Yeah I know, other than s30v, and overall length..... these knives are different. But for some reason, those are the two I narrowed it down to. I know it's kinda oranges and apples.
