So I want a 940 and I am deciding between the 940vs940-1 and I am a bit worried about one thing on the 940-1. I've seen a video talk about how the -1 has problems because the threads for screws from the pocket clip are just glued in... That seems a bit like bad design? I need it as a decent hard use edc. I really like aluminum so I might just go with the regular model. If you have a 940-1 please chime in what you think. thanks

I thought about the -1 when I bought my 940. I like the weight and look of the CF but I didn't think it was with the premium. I do love my 940 aluminum handle and the texture. One thing I like as well about the -1 is the pilar construction. I have no regrets on bit choosing the -1 tho.

I've changed and adjusted my clip on my -1 multiple times over the months I've had it, never any trouble with the threads coming out of their setting. I've had issues with the Aluminum in the 940 handles deforming and snapping off screw heads.
Far hard use its really up to personal preference, meaning how comfortable you are using the more expensive I one harder.
Steel choice is definitely a factor, but Ive thought about blade switching just to get the S30V in the CF scales. Then I could reaally beat it up.
Because I carry a small fixed and a medium/large folder... 940-1 I rarel use the folder for anything more destructive seeing as my fixed is usually a Rodent Solution. As far as I'm concerned as long as you use the knife within it's limits and capabilities you should have zero issues.
