Hi

I would like to get a BM 940-1 that has CF scales and the Blue Ano Stanoffs.

Can any one tell me what are the various size screws the knife uses?
I would like to replace them all with Ti Blue Ano Screws to complement the Standoffs.
This as been done on ZT knives and rick Henderer's as well

Thnaks

There was a thread about this very subject not long ago.
But, lets to cut to the chase...........

Pivot screw for 940 is 8-32.
Body and clip screws are 2-56.

How sure are you about the pivot screw? Because either this information is incorrect or I was sent the incorrect size titanium screws from USAknifemaker.. Left side is the screw I just purchased and right side is the pivot screw from my benchmade 940.

I'm not.
I do not own a 940 presently, or I would confirm these numbers right now.
I just copied the info from someone here who I thought was a trusted source.
I'm sorry if my post led you astray.
If I was the cause...please send me a PM and I will make it right.

Does the new screw at least thread in properly? I believe the number 8-32 refers to the type of threading. You may have the right screw just the wrong length.

I am about to order 6-32 titanium screws for the pivot. I'm pretty damn sure that will be the correct size. My 940 is gonna bang! All satin blade, polished titanium hardware and clip with light grey Death Grips w/ purple backspacer.

The pivot screw that I just measured was from a 940-1501. I will measure a 940-1 pivot screw and post a correction if needed within the hour.

Well, I am going to place an order for the 6-32 3/16" and 2-56 3/8". I'll update later after I receive and install.

I did receive and successfully installed those sizes.

My 940-1 pivot screw has a coarse thread (6-32). I have a couple extra 940-1's laying around. I am not inclined to drag them out and measure them, but my guess would be that no two are alike.

When the 940-1 came out it used the standard 940 pivot screw with slightly less threads. Then they started using the minigrip pivot which is a little longer and has more threads. Not sure of the dimensions but I have spent a good bit of time taking them apart and have confirmed this by calling benchmade as well. So it really just depends on when your 940-1 was made as to what pivot screw it will have.
