Is there anywhere you can purchase a replacement omega spring for a benchmade 940? I don't want to send it off. Benchmade still doesn't send them out correct?
 
Call them and ask about them sending you one, but turnaround was pretty quick when I sent my 943 in for the same problem, something like a week. But I live in Washington so that may have helped.
 
"Music Wire" - Search for this, it's been successfully performed many times. Got to a music shop and find a wire the same diameter. Bend this wire to a similar shape. Install and smile. I now flick my knives all I want because it's such an easy fix! :) Maybe I need to start selling them as no one does...

Can't say for sure the wire holds up as long as the omega's. Some omega springs go out fast and some last. I figure the music wire will be about the same. Still, easy fix next time!
 
can't answer to omega springs... however, they shipped me out a screw really quick when I emailed them to get a stripped one replaced!
