Benchmade 941 With S30V?

Just got this 941s in a trade and it has S30V on it. Weren't they made with 154cm? Is this a sprint run? Didn't do much research before getting it. But it says on the BM site that they were made with 154cm. I seen the 941-81 has s30v but has different logo on blade. Was thinking someone took the blade off a 941-81 and put it on a regular 941 but that can't be it. Can someone tell me what i have here? Thanks.

Interesting! Maybe someone had the blade replaced after they were discontinued and BM has run out of 154CM blades?

Yeah. Don't really know what to think i can't find anything on s3ov 941 except the 941-81 so IDK unless it's a sprint run. But would probaly say that on the blade too. It feels to good of quility to be a fake or something. Never owned one and didn't look up the blade steel before trading just excepted it as having s30v but says on the BM site the standard 941's were made with 154cm.:confused:
 
Please if anybody can think of something please post cause i don't know what to think. What do you think? Does it at least look real? Are there any fakes/copies of this knife that somebody knows of? Asked who i traded with last night if he got it new or used and might get a response later but i am stumped. Does anybody know if this what the 941-81 blade looked like this cause that's what i'm hoping it is. Somebody switched the 941-81 for a 941 blade but don't know why they would do that. Blade replacement from Benchmade?
 
Call/email Benchmade and ask.
 
Think i'll do that. Maybe i'll PM the Benchmade MOD and see if they can tell me something from the pics here.
 
I imagine someone wanted a black 940 so they traded the handle/blade of the 940 and 943.

Oh yeah. Thats right. Sent the Benchmade MOD a PM with link so hoping will have some idea of what i have here sometime today. Not complaining in anyway very happy to have s30v instead of 154cm just totally stumped at the why and how? Misprinted 941 instead of 943 maybe? Feels way to nice to be a copy/fake.
 
Benchmade MOD got back to me and told me this.


"Greetings!

During the last year of production for the 941 the blade steel was changed from 154CM to S30V. The model pictured in the thread is most likely from the last year of regular production of the 941. In addition, if anyone sends in a 941 for a blade replacement it is replaced with a S30V blade regardless if it originally had a 154CM blade."

So very happy to hear this news. Thank you Benchmade!
