How is the quality and performance BM943 knife? How does it compare to little bigger Benchmade 710?How is benchmades s30v compared to their D2?How does this knife compare to Benchmade Pardue 531.Used to have 710 and liked it,but now am thinking of getting it again or try 531 or 943.
Ps.I have Griptilian Tanto, and Pardue 530, Do not really like plastic scales, and Griptilian is little thick to carry along with tanto blade that I do not find too practical.Pardue 530 is fine knife, very easy to carry but handle is not comfortable for any cutting ,so Im stuck between getting 943,710 or 531!All opinions are welcome!

No offense, but what you’re asking is like comparing apples to oranges..

Each of those knives are in a different category of EDC IMO.. Depends on how hard and what you mainly use your knives for :)

My main question is bm d2 vs s30v from same company.I need knives for medium use, nothing too hard, just usual edc and food cutting! No abuse, period, just cutting.Probably will go with 710, but would like to know how their s30v compares to d2.

943 is a narrow profiled knife with aluminum panels and a medium long narrow blade. S30V steel is good stuff, takes a great edge and is not particularly difficult to sharpen. Generally considered a medium duty knife that looks good and is strong enough for moderate work.

531 is essentially a 530 with a change in grip panels and a swedge. Dagger styling with medium blade length. 154CM steel is good stuff, takes a great edge and is very easy to sharpen. Generally considered a light duty knife but certainly not a weakling.

The 710 is a large knife that carries in the pocket like a medium sized knife. Long clip point blade that's fairly narrow in profile. D2 steel is good stuff, takes a good working edge and can be a SOB to sharpen for some people. It's a solidly built knife that can take a beating and bounce back.

Three completely different knives but each good stuff in their weight class.

For your needs, s30v, d2, or 154 cm would do the task very well. D2's usually have a black coating on them.
Hell, 8cr13mov would even suit your medium needs just fine. From my experience the grind, shape, and the thickness plays more of a role in regular tasks.

I would be looking more into the shape, weigh, and the ergos that best suits your hand as most blades will handle edc tasks.

D2 is my favorite steel from Benchmade, it takes a super edge and holds it very well, and all the comments on rust are a little inflated, if you live on the coast or swamp rust may be a problem.
