Benchmade 943 with BM940 birdseye damascus blade.

I didn't really do much with this except to install the blade, which was forged by snakeriverknives (he's on ebay as such). I have no vested interest in his business, but I thought some of you might like to see this sweet damascus blade (Benchmade 940 style blade) installed in my old Benchmade 943. I think it looks great. The fit and finish of the blade was dead on, and it installed just as it should. The blade is 125 layers of 1095 carbon steel and 15N20 Nickel steel. After I installed it, a few swipes on my sharpmaker, and it is wicked sharp.

Whadya think?

I like that A LOT. Makes me want to follow through with my mod ideas on a Benchmade Sequel.

Is that the original thumb stud off of the factory blade?

I've had the 943 for several years, and I bought it used on BF, so I'm not sure of the age of it.

I appreciate all the comments.
 
I really like the plain monochromatic handle combined with the damascus blade. They complement each other. You use it I hope?

I think the moderators prefer that we not post specific ebay auction links, so what I will do is tell you how to locate his products on the bay:

-Clik "Advanced Search" which is right beside the "Search" button on ebay.
-Scroll down the page to "Sellers"
-Type in: snakeriverknives in the box under "Sellers"
-Hit enter

That should take you to his available blades. I have no vested interest in his sales, fwiw.

Thank you all for your comments. Btw, I am using this knife, and I have resharpened it, and it gets wicked sharp really easy on my Sharpmaker with the rods set at 40 degrees.

Winter storm heading this way...gotta go stack some wood near the back door. :)

Just checked em out...Pretty cool. Also has griptilian blades swaps. As far as affordable damascus folders goes I noticed Civivi has a few models available now in damascus also which debuted at blade-show i believe. BHQ has them in stock as of last i looked yesterday. Not sure if quality is comparable but WE knives hasnt made any junk im aware of and there pretty affordable too if anyone hasnt heard about them yet. The mckenna is coming out in raindrop damascus which im waiting to grab one as soon as they drop. Civivi website has photos also of the baklash, praxis, naja, and coming McKenna all in damascus! Pretty awesome for under a hundo.
