Hey members,

I found a BM 950 RIFT for $138 shipped...I really want to pull the trigger. What you guys think? Any experience?

I dont own one but a buddy at work does and ive played with it. His has serrations and i dont like them. But the f&f is good, its solid, the scales are nice, and the axis lock is fun. I dont particularly care for the blade shape or i might own one. But if you like it I'd say go for it.

Just fwiw they can be found for $125 brand new and only $128 for the 810 as well. Its a greatknife that works well for most tasks.

Let us know if you pull the trigger on the 950. I'm right there with you, its been on my list for years but there is always something else ahead of it. Also the fact I have not found it for such a great price. The local store around here has it for $200...need I say more.

I finally got one last year after it was on my list for quite awhile as well, I really like the design and blade shape (I also really like the 810) I say go for it its a good knife.

IMHO it's a sweet knife but overpriced. If I saw one in the exchange for <$100 I'd probably jump on it though.

You and everyone else...

The 950 Rift is a wicked nice knife I use mine all the time. I paid $122 back in August and I would happily shell out the $138 to replace it if I lost it.

I saw one for $95 not too long ago and could've bought it, but money was a little tight so I didn't.

for that price you can get the 810 , basically same knife just better steel and a little bigger if you know where to look.

Had mine for more than 2 years. Supersmooth now and a pleasure to own... Paid $119 online. This is mine:

The rift is an interesting knife. It looks like a knife that someone spent a lot of money on to "pimp". The scales remind me very much of custom work that I see some of the better makers coming up with. Also the standoffs are very cool.

Perfect centering, very thin flat ground and all blade play dialed out on mine= my favorite.

Okay, I have to ask, where are you finding these prices? I have not seen anything close to what has been mentioned here.

I love mine, gave my first one to my son in the Army who was eyeing it...so I bought me another one, plain edge with the black coating. Have this one for about two years, it's my EDC. I think I paid about 100 for it.

Fantastic knife! I've EDC'd it for a couple years now. Takes a good edge and retention is above average. The G10 scales are a work of art IMO. Almost the perfect size for my needs. Tough bugger too.
I think I paid around $150 for it and would gladly pay that price again. If you're seeing it for closer to $100, I'd definitely pick it up. Great price.

I had one. Really nice knife, fit and finish were great on it, but holy moly did it just feel s o wrong in my hands. i dont know why either, I tried to like it, but like i said it just felt so wrong.
