I have a tan Adamas 275 and I always thought it was G10. However, after seeing this pic, I am wondering what the heck I have. The specs on the website say that the handle is G10 and while I always thought that my 275 had some of the strangest G10 in the world, I am not starting to think that the specs only refered to the black version. After all, you can see the G10 layers in the black version but you cant see any layering in the tan version.

If this is hard coat anodized aluminum it is definitely unlike any other hard coat that benchmade has done. Please help me out with what I have.

FYI this is not my knife, but this is the pic that made me realize that maybe my knife isn't G10

jabroneeman seems to have it right. Benchmade does a Cerakote on some of their G10 handle scales, so they may have very well done a tan Cerakote over what would have been the black G10 handles. That would also cover the layers one would normally see on the sides of the scales, along with giving it a smoother feeling in hand as opposed to plain G10.

The website describes BOTH as G10...the limited original black (0275BK) and the more common tan model (0275BKSN).
Here are pics...these are both new knives. I will assume G-10, although the surface treatment seems a bit different. I really don't know...but the much smoother surface of the tan would easily suggest a painted surface...

My year old Adamas is tan G10. I actually have deep scratches in it too, and mine is G10 all the way through.

The Benchmade mod at one point mentioned the first run or two were cerakoted, later they switched to tan G10.

Seems a little lazy and also overly elaborate to coat the handles instead of just of just getting G10 in the color you want.

Mine is painted G10. I'll have to track down an unpainted tan G10 version one of these days.

Either way, awesome knife.
