I have been looking at getting a Benchmade folder with D2 steel. So far my top two are the Adamas 275 and the Bone Collector 15020. I looked at the Adamas in a store and didn't notice until I looked it up online, the blade length is 3.82, which is .32 larger than the Colorado Limit. My question is if there is any way around the law, or if someone knows of a similar knife, with D2 steel, that is legal.

Thanks!

I think you have to ask that question in "General Knife Forum" - the Traditional section doesn´t seem to be the subforum for your question...

Colorado law is 3.5" or less, no switchblades or balisongs. Assisted ok tho. Adamas would be illegal.

If I really liked a particular knife, and if the only thing that kept it from being legal was .32 of a inch of blade, I would consider regrinding the tip of the blade and make it of legal length.

A knife with a blade over 3.5 inches is only illegal in Colorado if it is concealed. If you carry it openly, you should have no problem. I would think if you used the sheath it comes with, and it is apparent it is a knife, it would be OK. I carried a Buck 110 in a sheath for years with only one cop ever questioning it, and he didn't take it or write me a ticket.
