Hey guys! I was looking for a multipurpose fixed blade for a backpacking or camping trip and ran across the Benchmade Adamas 750 fixed blade knife. It is D2 tool steel, and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this knife. Good, bad, not what I'm looking for? Just looking for help. Thanks!!!

The only Adamas fixed blade I am aware of is the 375. But I too am also looking for a camp/survival type fixed blade and am also considering the Adamas. The thing that I don't like though is the spine serrations because it would make batoning difficult. I guess it really depends on how you will use the knife. But my other picks besides the Adamas are the Esee 5 or the Becker BK2 Companion. Price wise Im leaning toward the BK2 and I have heard they are really well built.

The Becker BK2 is basically a sharpened pry bar. It is a very capable, heavy duty knife that you will have to try REALLY hard to break. Another option would be the BK10, same knife, but a little thinner, a lot lighter, and just as capable. My pick though, is the BK7, a 7" version of the BK9/2.
