I decided to pick up an 806D2 (Thanks Leatherman!) the other day because I love the blade of my 800SBT, but wanted the AXIS lock on my favorite folder. I was extremely surprised to see the differences between the two folders. I thought the 806D2 was simply an 800 with D2 tool steel and the AXIS lock. There is the obvious oval hole and ability to carry tip up, but imagine my surprise when I opened the 806D2 and found that the handle is 1/4 of an inch longer than my 800SBT, and about 1/32 of an inch thicker. The 806D2 G10 is more textured than the G10 on the 800SBT. The thumb ridging on the back top of the handle is partially on the liners, and partially on the blade, as opposed to being completely on the blade spine as on the 800SBT. The allens holding the 806D2 together are different than those on my 800SBT. Distinctly different models. I am very pleased with the 806D2, so if anyone is interested in an 800SBT in near mint condition, with very slight wear from carry, let me know.

Yes, I am. Very. What's the going price these days? Please feel free to contact me at jimandjay13@hotmail.com if it would be against forum policy to do business here.

Thanks
