According to the new '05 catalog the coating on the BM806D2 has been upgraded from BT2 to BK1, how do the two coatings stack up to one another?

Thanks,

BK1 BenchKote™ BLADE COATING- Our own proprietary blade coating offering excellent corrosion resistance, which exceeds the ASTM-117 specification for saltwater corrosion resistance. BK1 is a poly-ceramic coating (a blend of polymers and ceramic). It's thinner than the previous blade coating BT2, has equal to or better corrosion resistance (exceeding the ASTM salt spray standard) and unlike BT2 has much better wear resistance due to the ceramic.

Hope this helps

ive got the new coating, i dont particually like it because unlike the older teflon coatings it has the tendency to "goudge" out in deep scratches than just wearing off and turning shiny gracefully.

a buddy has a old 800 that hes had for years with the teflon coating, we do the same work with both his 800 and my 806 and after just a few months mine looks as worn as his does.
