Benchmade AFOII vs Microtech

Hi,

Can anyone comment on the differences in quality and design between the AFO2 and SOCOM Elite? Is Microtech superior, or is the AFOII in the same category?

In my experience collecting both, Microtechs make Benchmades look and feel like gas station knives. They're not even the same category, even if they're priced similarly, I'd never pick a Benchmade. Socom Elite is easily one of my top 5 knives, built like a tank and built to last, but also very good at cutting (usually you get one or the other).

I agree with Kryme. I have owned the original AFO with Benchmade and Al Mar logo on them, and they were better than any of the later production models. None of them can match the Microtechs in design or execution. I have a 7505-132 model from Benchmade and it is close and is very nice knife, but in general Microtech is still better.

Agreed. Benchmade can’t hold a candle to Microtech.
