I am reading that M2 is a great steel for edge, but rusts. Can I assume that BM has taken steps to keep this from happening to the Nimravus??

Benchmade and M2

Banchmade uses a coating called BT2 I think.Its basically a teflon coating to increase wear resistance and give the blade a black finish.It is also supposed to mae the knife cut better and have a smoothr action due to the fact that teflon works as a lubricant. It is used on the M2 blades. I don't have a BM, so I can't give an opinion on them, but I think if you go to the knife reviews forum and the blade discussion forum you can find some comments on the M2 blades.

I have both the BM AFCK and Stryker in M2. They are my two favorite folders. The M2 holds an edge VERY well on both knives. The BT2 coating has held up fairly well under everyday use.
