There are plenty of "versus" threads out there, but I don't believe that you have to choose between the two great companies.
They both make some great knives, so let's have a Benchmade AND Spyderco thread.

Your pictures please: one Spyderco, one Benchmade.

I'll start with two biggies, the Spyderco BG-42 CF Military with a Benchmade 805 TSEK.

Does anyone have a Chinook II or Manix with a BM?
 
I have any number of Spydies, including the Chinooks I & II as well as the StarMate. I also have some BenchMades, the 770, the 921 and the 940, all of which I like. I even have the 921 in my daily rotation.
 
I bought my first benchmade. activator snody design. I used to buy folders but one day I saw this and decided to buy very quick. especially the carbon handle looked impressive. I also like the kydex sheath very much. I love my benchmade.
 
The Military is an awesome looking knife, but I've never held one. I believe its G10 for the handle material. Yours is Carbon Fiber? How well does that "stick" to the hand? Looks very grippy. I have several of their knives and carried an Endura Clipit for a long time, gone thru 3 of them. The black rubber inlay on my Pro-Venator (Disc., and hard to find) is very nice and the contrast to the stainless makes it a very unique looking knife. I'll take some pics of my collection soon. No Benchmades yet but I feel I deserve a purchase :-)

Great idea for a thread. Love the picture Boobar! I don't have any Spyderco's but I do like the brand.

Love the oldschool Vesuvius and Osborne, Java. They make a nice pair, too, with their marbled/swirled/colorful finish(es).
 
Damn. Everybody keeps saying "the mini-manix is not mini," but I didn't really fully understand until that pic!

It's a BEAST

The handle is sized to be very comfortable in the hand and it's a wicked slicer.

Whenever mine came to me in the mail, I honestly thought that he was mistaken and he gave me the full Manix instead.

I am going to snag something new for my collection soon and I would like a Military but prefer a combo edge. I don't think they make or are planning on making the CF in a combo. Also the black blade on the G10 model looks awesome to me. Price on those is a bit less at $120 shipped or so. But, I'm eyeing a 710 as I have no BM's and plenty of Spyderco's. Maybe if I wait a few they might come out with a CF Military with combo edge. Just sold some old Mopar cars parts so I think I deserve a new addition :D
