Benchmade Apparition 670 hard to open.

The one I used had a very smooth action...it was tricky to flick it out in a way that didn't stop the assisted opening thing....assisted openers should always come with flippers, always. But it was never rough. I'm not sure what kind of safety the apparition has, but I'd double check and make sure it's all the way off...the first night I was playing with the scallion, I struggled to get it open, thinking something had broken, but the safety had just slid on somehow when I was playing with it.

You need to loosen the screws. One of the allen wrenches that came with the knife should do it. Maybe one half turn to one turn should loosen it up, too much and you'll have a sloppy action.

Thanks for the advice. It doesn't have a safety (not an auto). I'll play around with the screws. Bugs me that you should have to do this with a NIB knife though. I sure like the blade shape and want to get it into action. I can open it two handed but not one with the thumb stud.
