ANYBODY OUT THERE HAVE A PROBLEM OPENING THIS KNIFE? I NEED 2 HANDS! IS IT ME OR WHAT.:thumbdn:

yea - I use 2 hands also - its mechanism is a bit sticky - maybe try some wd40 lube - I have learned to prefer axis lock over the cumbersome liner lock

IS YOUR CAPS LOCK BUTTON STUCK, OR WHAT? :thumbdn:

As for the problem with your knife, there are many possible reasons that you need two hands to open your knife:
- The pivot screw may be too tight.
- There may be some problem with the Optimiser System.
- There may be some sticky substance in the mechanism.
- You might not understand the concept of a thumb stud.
- You may have small, unusually weak hands.

Also, try oiling the pivot.

Good luck.

I have a new Apparition I picked up last week. At first it seemed a little hard to open, but after a couple of days of practice it's snapping open every time. Part of it is getting the blade/stud moving in the direction it wants to go (out and forward in an arc -- not just forward).

When you open it: Make sure the meaty/fleshy part of your thumb is resting on the stud where it connects with the blade, not just on the tip of the stud. Then give your thumb a hard push/flick in the same direction as the arc of the blade travel (not forward, but more out and forward at 45 degrees to the knife body). This really gets the blade opening. At first I was pushing on just the tip of stud (in a forward movement) and it was killing my thumb, and opening about half way.

It took a couple of days for me to get the feel of it, and now it works every time, comfortably and easier.

I really love the knife, great feel, and great looks!

I have never had a problem opening them with just 1 hand and my thumb. Not sure whats goin on with yours. I know some people with weaker hands have a lil problem opening them, but I am not insinuating anything.

Fantastic. :D:thumbup:

blueman, sometimes assisted openers take a bit more force to get going because the designer wants to make sure a bump on the knife doesn't open it in your pocket. Once you get used to it I'm sure you'll be snapping that puppy out without a hitch.
