Does the spring on the BM Assisted Openers loose its
springyness over time?

My Leek did.... but it may be just designed different... ??

thanks for your help.

the only assited from BM i have played with was the apparition which has their easily removable assist mechanism even if it did lose some springiness over time it would be plenty strong because brand new out of the box it tries to take flight when opened.

The assisted systems in Benchmades and Kershaws are very different.

The upside is that if you contact Kershaw via their website they have an order form for you to order new torsion bars free of charge to speed your Leek back up.

http://www.kershawknives.com/contactus.php

Just go to that page. Then you choose warranty from the drop down subject box and the order form will appear. The model number on the Leek is 1660. Check the box next to to torsion bar (and any other parts you want/need for your Leek), fill in a short message in the message box and submit. You'll have your new torsion bars by the end of the week. Early next week at the absolute latest.

thx guys!

MaxFisher: I did this at the suggestion of another member.
Should be here soon. I love my leek.

I'm addicted to AO... I want to try a BM model.
