It was good to see Benchmade and other knife companies at the annual NRA convention. It was my first time at a knife manufacturer’s booth and it was a lot of fun. The BKC booth was humming, selling knives left and right. Definitely the busiest knife exhibitor and one of the most crowded booths, of any kind, at the show.
It was disappointing that some prominent knife companies were not there but many other great companies were there to support our second amendment rights.

Thanks Benchmade,
Matt

Glad to hear you stopped by Matt. Unfortunately they don't send the engineers to the NRA shows...

Here is the reason Spyderco gave in the post you made over there.

We tried to get in this year but the show was filled and nothing became available. We worked the show for years back in the 80's & 90's, but the show schedule became to busy so it had to go. We're planning on trying to get a spot for next year.

sal

I like both Spyderco & Benchmade.

I like Spyderco too but my money will be going to companies that support the NRA and my second amendment rights.
Taking no stance is a stance with the anti’s. The same people who can’t understand why you or I need to carry a knife.

Please remember, this thread is not a Spyderco vs Benchmade, or a Spyderco bashing thread. There were other knifemakers that didn’t show up either. Bad timing? Maybe.

I was simply telling Benchmade that I appreciate their support and how much I enjoyed their booth.

GB940Rookie - That's fine, just as long as people understand that just because a company wasn't at the NRA convention it doesn't mean they don't support the 2nd Amendment. Spyderco couldn't get a spot since it was filled, other knife companies might have similar reasons. Also consider that BLADE show is close and some companies may choose to focus on it over the NRA Convention. Others may of attended SHOT show over the NRA Convention.

Basically saying let's not be so quick to grab the torches & pitchforks just because a company wasn't at the NRA Convention.

And good on Benchmade for being there. Looking forward to checking out their booth at BLADE.

I do believe it's a busy schedule for trade shows and conventions especially around this time of year. Credit to Benchmade for devoting the time and energy and making the NRA convention a priority.

whats ellens? seriously...dont think we have that down here or i missed the joke.
Oh sorry, it’s a restaurant near the convention center that had printed on their receipts that they were donating part of the proceeds to gun control groups...the NRA tweeted on Friday not to go there but local news said yesterday’s the restaurant claims they still had lots of convention people patronize them.

15 million folks claim membership in the NRA and 6 million are dues paying members, some of whom volunteer as well, but most probably carry a knife once in a while...
Maybe we should all join kniferights, ya think.

I think you are right. I love what Ritter has done, but I should put my money behind him as well.

UPDATE - just joined with a yearly membership. A small price to pay for what they have done to combat ridiculous knife laws.

yep exactly. it not who wasnt there is bad. it would be those who say they dont support the peoples right or are boycotting due to an anti 2nd amendment belief. they have that right and i support that but i wont do business with them. so far i dont believe any maker has said that. so that is good.

I was at NRAAM a week ago and spent some time at the Benchmade booth. It was nice to see them and handle several BM knives that I've been curious about. It was the first booth I visited and one of the highlights of the show for me.

Thanks Benchmade!
