So I sent an email to Benchmade asking if I could get a new blade for my 907 but since that knife has been discontinued they are out of blades for them. I not too seriously asked if they are planning an Axis version of the Stryker:

"Since the Nitrous Strykers have been disco'd does that mean there will soon be an Axis or Axis Assist Stryker? I sure hope so."

This was the response I got:

"915 is about as close as you will come to an axis stryker these days. I am excited to see what new stuff get released in January"].

Why add that extra bit of info? Pretty cryptic but here's hoping.

DId they offer another replacement then since they are out of your blade?

Just to clarify, I was looking to swap the blade for a plain edge one. There is nothing wrong with the knife I have. They do still have combo edge blades and I'm not sure what they would do if it were a warranty situation concerning a plain edge 907. I assume they would just replace the whole knife with something else.

I'm very excited about the prospect of an Axis Stryker as the Stryker is one of my favorite designs.

That would be fantastic. Believe it or not I was just talking to a friend about the Stryker and how nice it would be if they ever came out with an AXIS version.

I carried a Stryker for many years and really like that knife.

Thanks for sharing the info.

My favorite Benchmades right now are the 913 Stryker and the 581 Barrage. I don't have any big drive to have an Axis Stryker and in my understanding of how the Stryker operates it will be difficult to have an Axis Stryker because the 2 mechanisms would interfere with each other. I think this is why the Barrage has its assist spring in a different location.

Stryker is the name of the family of knives designed by Allen Elishewitz. The Nitrous assisted opening system of the 912/913 and 906/907 is what is incompatible with Axis. But having the Axis Assist like on the Barrage would be awesome! In my opinion the Stryker is too much of a classic to be out of the lineup.

I was referring to the original 910 non-assisted. I have one of the first generation one's and a second generation in 154CM.

Truly a fantastic knife and indeed a classic.
