I just can't make up my mind. Anyone have opinions one way or another to sway my fickle fancy? Looking for a larger EDC (larger, for me, being about this size).
All about the same size, weight, etc. Decisions, decisions....
I went through a similar winnowing process not too long ago. I have a tendency to find something that works and I like and stick with it. That being said, last month I retired my Kershaw liner lock that I've carried for about nine years and replaced it with a Torrent. There's just something about this knife that speaks to me. For my needs it has perfect blade length and shape; solid lock-up with no play in any direction; well thought out, dual-arm assisted opening; and classy presentation.
About the only negative I found is that both screws let go at once and the clip popped off a couple of days ago as I was putting it back in my pocket. I'm hoping a little blue loctite will secure it. If not, I will send it back for repair.
Even so, as soon as I can shake loose enough buckolas I plan to order another.
I have the barrage and its alright. It has up and down blade play that drives me crazy, the torrents that I have handed are much better. I had a Stryker for a while and liked it a lot. Its very thin and locks up well, not quite as "pretty" as the torrent so you have to decide which is more you. I still have the barrage because I prefer Tip up carry with a swappable clip.
The G10 slabs have been upgraded from the original Stryker such that they really "grip you back" as you hold on to the knife.
I also notice the D2 blade has more bite when I've tested it on paper compared to a similarly sharpened 154CM blade.
The Nitrous assisted opening is, well, a blast! One added plus I never considered is the spring that fires the blade open also provides some resistance when one closes the blade--helps your fingers from being in the path of the blade when it is shut.
