well here goes, just joined the forum been looking at it quite awhile. Retired navy love knives have built some and might build more when i retire. Presently sitting here doing a rebevel job on my bm barrage. I bought it new quite sharp out of the box but an uneven grind from side to side. Decided by eyeball to rebevel at 18% per side 36% inclusive seems to be a good angle so far. Using worksharp ken onion sharpener with the blade grinder attachment, gives me a bigger belt than straight factory belt. Believe it’s 1x18. Blade is s30v which is a turd to rebevel on a stone. Will post finished results when done.

Great - what was the angle to start with? I have a 580 also, I find it is very sharp OOTB and don't notice any funny bevel or anything. Quite pleased as a matter of fact. I know nothing of angles and such, slowly learning when I can.

Thank you for your service and welcome!
