If you could only have one folder (of the two) which would you choose, and why? Non-Auto.

Pics are welcome.

Both seem to be a very good value. Tell me about the action. Are they smooth, fast, solid... (fun) etc?

Thanks

That is a hard one. I have an Adamas and had a bedlam. I really liked the bedlam although mine was an auto.

If I were going to buy the one of the two for EDC, I would probably get the Adamas, I like the bedlam look and feel better. Both are solid. The Adamas being the beefed up model. The Bedlam is purpose oriented. Honestly either are solid great knives.

I had the misfortune of actually needing it for it's intended use. The knife is devastating. And I no longer have it, and I will leave it at that, no questions please.

I have to get another bedlam. What are you going to use it for? We need more info.

I have also had both of them. I sold the Bedlam.

The Adamas is a very tough knife that is great for EDC. The Bedlam is very thin and not ideal for everyday cutting tasks, it is made for self defense. I don't think it made a good SD knife because it was too slow to get out of your pocket with the deep carry clip, and the curve in the blade was just not my thing. The Adamas is much more practical.

Between the two, I'd purchase the Adamas. The ergonomics are outstanding, its handle slides into the pocket with ease, and the action is incredibly fast. More importantly, the Adamas functions as one of the strongest hard-use folders on the market. The axis-lock on the Adamas is a stronger variant than the locks on other BM models.

However, I would not carry either for EDC, especially the Adamas - it's just too wide and heavy. For EDC uses, I prefer the 710 or 810!

Adamas. Brutally tough knife, but reasonble size to actually use. Won't scare the shiz out of the person next to you if you pull it out to use. Bedlam is a bit scary looking to many, and that might pose an issue. Never owned one. I'd like one too.
Avoid autos unless you are a LEO or Active Military. Most states made owning, much less carrying one, illegal. Like felony illegal. Benchmade's flippers are so smooth, you won't miss it anyway.

I forgot to add what id be doing with it (a golden rule) sorry about that. :)

As is the case with most of my knives, especially crazy ones, it would be for fun to flip at home, to collect and admire.

You know, as I got to looking at both of them the Bedlam started to remind me very much of a CS knife that I sold a long time ago. I think it was called a Persian or something. I liked it, but it was a bit cheesy. The BM (I think) would probably feel more serious. Less of a silly man toy and more of a weapon? Not sure if that makes sense.

Then the Adamas started looking like this S&W thing I bought years ago. Same deal there though... I'm sure it would impart a sense of purpose unlike the dull toy I mentioned.

Argh ... now I'm not sure that I want either.

As for asking about anyones past experience in a sd situation, I should hope that I have more couth than that! ;)
