So I just got a benchmade bedlam shipped to me last week. I got it on monday and other than the poor out of the box sharpness, i was pretty pleased. i fondled it a bit and put it back in the box. Then on wedsday i went to my uncles place for a beer tasting, I figured why not try carrying it that day. So i took it with me and when i pulled it out to show him i started playing with it, and realized that the skull crusher/ pommel is loose. It shifts between two positions with an audible click. it actually requires a little bit of force to move it, but not very much about as much as it takes to press a computer key. Is this intentional? i cant imagine why it would be, but i also cant imagine why if its loose it doesnt just rattle. anyone else have a similar experience?

If it is a q/c issue what should i do about it? contact the seller or contact benchmade?

Thanks for any help or advice.

got mine preowned from a forumite (only had it for a week) and the glassbreaker/skull crusher has zero movement. I can't even budge mine.

You could try tightening up the two screws if that will stop the problem.

I'm a bit puzzled on why some of the blade extends into the index finger groove when open, but it's very slight and doesn't have any effect.

BM has some great customer service so if it's a defect they'll be happy to replace it or fix it.

Mine had the same problem, I just tightened the bottom two screws and now it's rock-solid.

I had to tighten mine too. It must be a rite of passage to enter the Bedlam District.

Yeah screw tightness fixed. I tried it once before and it didnt want to tighten. The second time i torqued the hell out of it and it broke the blue thread lock, went down a bit, and no more looseness.

The Bedlam is a bad-ass knife, and i guess its worth the tuning, but i expect a little more out of a knife with an msrp over 200 dollars.
