Does anyone own the Benchmade Benchmite has an EDC? Is it worth the cost? ($80) seems kind of expensive at least for me. I don't think it includes a belt clip, this is kind of important to me. Any other suggestions related to a moderate priced EDC? Thanks.

I would suggest the Benchmade mini-griptilian. Cabela's has a limited run of them with D2 blade steel. It's a great small EDC, comes with a clip which you wanted.

The Benchmite is beautiful, well made and a sharp little knife, but I won't use it as an EDC because it too easily slips out of my pocket. Other knives without clips do not. I think with the 'mite' does because of the small & THIN combination (it almost feels "slippery" to me). Good little vest pocket or jeans change/watch pocket knife...but EDC, probably not. By the way, I thought it was worth the money, but look around 'cause you can do better than the price you quote.

Yeah, Cricket just about has my thoughts on this too. I like the knife, it's very neat and the opening/locking mechanism is very cool. It is however, extremely small for a main edc blade, IMO. Then again, though, I carry the 'large' 720 or an MT LCC most of the time.

It is high quality, and comfortable for a tiny knife, but only as a back-up/sheeple blade for me.

Cricket and MXDan, have it right. It's a great SMALL knife, looks good and neat lock. I'd carry it a secondary knife. Look around you should find it cheaper. I've been drooling at the 310 in damasteel from A.G. Russell.

I'm intrigued by the Benchmite, but haven't been able to pull the trigger on one as it's just too small to be a main EDC to me. However, poking around on their site I just fount the Benchmite 3100 Auto. No that's just too cool, and with a blade just under 2" it's even Ca. legal. I think I just found my first auto to buy.

tpkelly, welcome to Bladeforums!

There are sooo many good knives for every day carry ... if you like the Benchmite's looks at all, though, a really small knife that works well for a reasonable price, I can recommend the Benchmade Big Spender and the Spyderco Stainless Steel. They are both small but very well made, and both are actually framelocks. With clips! :D
