benchmade black coating durability

How durable is benchmade's black coating on the blades? Pictures are greatly appreciated!

Benchmade's older coatings were not that durable.

I believe this one is the older BC1 coating from 2005. It's thick, like a paint and has a depth not seen on newer DLC types.

I've heard their newer stuff is much better but pics and field reports of it are hard to come by.

The coating on my 710 comes off rather easily... compared to the DLC on my zt350, it is night and day. I will not buy any black benchmade blades unless it is DLC, never again using a "BK1" coated blade.
