Benchmade Blue Class

I bought a Benchmade Griptillian 550HG "Blue Class". Got what looked like a really good deal. Too good to pass up, yet not so low that it would scream fake.

I've looked online but I don't know what "Blue Class" means. Benchmade just has some PR stuff about "it's like a friend that is always with you", etc.

Price was too good to pass up (though not so obscenely low that I would expect it was a knockoff). From what I can tell it's legit and it was from a (redacted). They list Benchmade on their website so I doubt it was a fake. That would be kind of bold.

Any ideas?

Photos would help. But if I can remember correctly, there is blue, black, hunt & gold (classes). Blue is the majority maybe tailoring to everyday people use. Black more towards tactical use. Hunt, self explanatory. Gold is throwing all the high price materials together.

Does Benchmade not list all of their "vendors" on their website? They have a few in my area but I've seen Benchmade knives in places that aren't listed as "dealers". The listed dealers seem to mostly be smaller businesses, not chains.

You have me curious now. How are they listed if the store is a chain?

I've noticed that in my area that two chain sporting goods stores claim to carry Benchmade, yet they aren't on the website. Are they listed a different way (by the location of the head office, etc)?

If, for example, Tractor Supply sold Benchmade I wouldn't expect Benchmade to know where every Tractor Supply store is.

Or are these places buying them from somewhere else (a distributor, etc)?

Good question. I guess I should have been more clear. If the dealer is a larger chain store we do not list them on the website. We only list the smaller dealers. So, Tractor Supply for example would not be listed.

Thanks. FTR - I've never seen one of your knives at Tractor Supply. Was the only chain I could think of that was an "innocent bystander." Except Wal-mart and I knew I'd get skewered for even SUGGESTING that a Benchmade was sold at a Wal-mart.

In my case I just happened to stumble upon what looked to be a really good deal so I jumped on it.
