Just want to know...how good is Benchmade Bluelubs. does it protect our knives from corrosion or rust ?

Is it safe to use for long term ?

Thanks for your time.

That's my lube! It wont be as good comparatively for corrosion and rust, but add in the cleaner and you got all the bases covered. I'm ok with just the lube myself though. I dont have issues with rust.

I use it on some of my folders, it's light and very effective. If you want corrosion protection, try Renwax or Fluid Film.

Best to use both. The cleanser's a surprisingly good product.

Whoa you're on your second bottle? The one I have is seemingly an endless supply.

I think the Blue Lube is the best lube I have used. When I put it on my 707 and 940 the blades jumped out. This lube made my knives smoother than any lube I have used.

Do you think the cleanser is needed? Or can I just put the lube on the blade?
I had a knife I used to cut up something that left a gooey residue , it was a mess.
A little bluelube cleaner and paper towel , made short work of gettin it off.
I think it some killer stuff for cleaning sticky stuff off your blade.
It also takes asphalt base products off the blade easily too.
I think its needed .......Ive needed it.

For the most part, the cleaner isn't needed. And all that's necessary, If it's necessary, are a drop or two of whatever product you choose on the washers. I rarely use anything if the knife is kept clean. As for the blade itself, BlueLube and others can lend to upset stomachs is the knife is used for food prep. I would recommend food grade mineral oil if that's the case, otherwise cloths made by Sentry Solutions with Tuf-Glide embedded can help to keep the blade corrosion and rust free. Most of the time, I simply wipe the blade clean.

No, the other bottle is new and unused because the first isn't an endless supply.

Yeah I know one bottle of anything is not an endless supply. Just suggesting that one bottle may be all I need for a good number of years. Just a figure of speech. Was suggesting I was in awe that you lube so many knives that it warranted a pre-need replacement. I think that's cool. I have no idea how long you used the first bottle. I do want others who read this to know that one bottle is a lot of lube and should last a good bit. Its practically my only lube also, love it...as I've already stated.

:) One of my Blue Lube bottles was a gift. I keep 'em together. I'd sooner have two bottle of the cleanser (and only one of the lube).

I have used many different lubes and tried some grease, but fairly recently I bought some Blue Lube and it works great. I like it better than than pretty much anything else I have tried. It is pretty thin and seeps in well when adding a drop to the pivot area. I can't speak for corrosion resistance, but it is a good lube.
