now i have ben edcing my monachrome for about a week and its has great edge retetion i have cut 2000 lbs test rope,boxes,open mail,pryied with it and
cooked with it and it is a great knife with for the money it will not rust the lock will not fail after doing the spin whack test i found that it is very very strong exeltent edc knife rides well in the pocket and sits kind of low very easy too sharpen with a course dmt stone at a 20' angle will get this knife to shaveing sharp but there is one flow in the knife if you choose the blk coating it does whear very easy so dont get it hope you like the review hope to be doing more soon thanks for reading

??? They have crowbars for that kind of thing. I'd never use a knife for that, but if there is good news, the Mono isn't expensive. Even still Benchmade might honor repairs on it under warranty, you'd have to give them a call.
 
Welcome to BF! Great to hear you're using your new knife (though I'm a bit iffy on using it as a prybar), but I have one small request.

So how is the grip on it? I've heard reports of slickness.

I really enjoy my Monochrome. I carry it most of the time when I am not at work (Blade length limit at work.) Like you, I find the edge retention of the N690 to be excellent. I also find it takes a most excellent edge. I actually prefer it over my Native III and my mini-griptilian, and that is saying a lot.
