Hello All, I just purchased a listed as new Benchmade Mini Bone Collector and absolutely love it. But I noticed an unusual clicking noise when opening and closing it along with the blade being slightly uncentered. After closer inspection, I found that the far most top frame Torx screw just spins when trying to loosen or tighten it along with the standoff that the screw threads threw? My question is is this normal? There is no way for me to tell until I call Benchmade to check. Thank You For Any Help Or Insites You Maybe able To Provide.

The mini bone collector is one of my favorite small folders. Congrats! If I remember correctly, the screw for the stop pin will spin if you try to adjust it. If that's what you are referring to it should be normal (I'll check when I get back home). If it is a different screw on the handle, this shouldn't happen.

Can you post a video of the clicking? Is the blade rubbing the liners?

OK... so I checked a few of my BM's and they all have a little "click" sound when the Axis bar goes over the first hump on the back of the blade when opening. Is that what you were referring? That is normal... at least on all of my BM folders (although I only checked on seven of my fifteen BM's). I would assume it is the Omega spring readjusting it's position against the liner when the pressure changes on that hump. Does this sound like what you are referring to?

Also, if you are like me and like to disassemble your knives, make sure to use a napkin or cloth when using a needle nose pliers to secure that spinning stop pin so that it doesn't scratch the finish. Although, I don't think you even need to touch it to disassemble the knife. I don't think it's secured into the opposite liner, so it can stay screwed-in during disassembly.

Thank You,
Yes, The top, front screw goes thru a standoff but there is no way to adjust or tighten it.
I still may send it to Benchmade for a fluff and buff and appreciate your assistance.

If you have any issues Benchmade will take care of you. Regardless, I think the 15030 is one of the best small EDC knives out there.
