Anyone have one? Just wondering how you like it? Perhaps a short review if possible I'd like. Thanks guys.

I'm looking at the wood handled folder version with serrations.

I had one for about a week. Nice knife but the handle was bulky and the grooves in it hung on the edge of my pocket making it hard to re-pocket. It was also a Benchmade so it was rather dull. I think it would be better carried in holster/pouch.

Don't have the wood handled one, but do have the green/black one. I've received 6 BM's in the past year, two 9051 AFO II's, one Onslaught, one Bone Collector, one LE Rift, and two 277's, one of the 275's, the Onslaught, and the Rift went to my son, but not before I had time to check them out. But every one of these came razor sharp, the kind of sharp that makes the hairs pop up when you cut them, and all had even grinds. I guess I have been the luckiest guy around because I cannot remember ever getting a dull BM.

And I don't doubt your's came dull Flashpoint, because your comment is certaintly not the first time I've heard this! Though the majority opinion lately seems to be that BM has really improved on that aspect!

I have the one with green/black g10. I love it. It did go back to sharpen immediately after I opened it, but I had it laser etched while there. It's a big big big knife, but I like big knives so it goes in my pocket more vs. the grippi.

I just received a gently used green and black one as well, great knife. Thick stock but not too thick to hamper slicing, robust tip design, smooth action, D2, and hand filling ergos. Mine was very sharp upon arrival and appeared to still have the factory edge. I had to slighty adjust the pivot for side to side play but it's gone now. The walnut is the best looking of the bunch IMO.

I have the one with the wood handles. It's super. No complaints.

Thanks guys. sounds like the general consensuous is that its a good knife and at worst it may need a sharpening out the box, hmm I can live with that.

I got rid of my plain-edge G10 version. It was a good knife, don't get me wrong, but I just liked the Griptillian more, so I saw no need to hang on to the Bone Collector. For me, the blade shape was a bit awkward to use, so I just found that it wasn't getting used at all.

Greetings:

I have both the small and large walnut Bone Collector folders and like them a lot. I got the smaller version first and had to sharpen it, yet the larger one that I bought more recently was very sharp out of the box. Both recent Benchmades I've gotten have been very sharp, so I agree that the company really has responded to customer feedback and worked on that.

Both Bone Collectors are rock solid and as silky smooth as any folders I have (I don't have any IKBS knives, though). They also both have high-quality G10 ridged back spacers as well as a distinctive character that I happen to like (and the logo is branded/laser-etched into the wood rather than just being painted on). There is a significant size and weight difference between them, however; the larger one is bigger and heavier and has thicker blade stock than I thought, all of which were a pleasant surprise for me.

Cheers,
Isaeus

My dad has the wood handled mini Bone Collector (as well as the G-10 version).
The wood handles give a nice classy look to it. It looks nice with a suit, while still being a reliable, usable knife.

I want one. Some people on the forums posted pictures of how they took the blade from a presidio and put it in the Bone Collector handles, since the Bone collector overall design is the same "body type" as the presidio. I have the presidio, im looking forward to getting one to swap the blades and have 2 modified folders. Cool stuff

My wife gave me the wood handled smaller one, 15030-2, for Christmas 2010. I already had the larger green/black G10 version, 15020-1. Both are awaiting a bit of a touchup on the edge, as neither will raise many arm hairs now. They are users... I just don't enjoy sharpening D2. I've grossly carved wood, broken down boxes, opened mail, etc, with both. The larger one is substantially larger than the small one, which actually makes a more 'polite' EDC knife. While not a true 'Gent's' knife, the Goth like skull on the handle and blade pretty much end that use quickly, it is a handy size. I like my larger one better than my 950 Rift, too, but it is a larger folder, make no mistake. Both can be single handed - deployed by a thumb hole in the blade - retracted by pulling back on the AXIS lock. Both have liners that are ramped on top and jimped for a better bearing service in close work. Both allow LH/RH tip up only clip use - but are far better clipless (I remove all clips!). Both came sharp - and stayed that way for quite a while. My biggest complaint is the skull -but it is Waddell's symbol, and I accept it as a simple fact of life.

Don't forget their excellent fb - 15005-2 in walnut. Great sheath, too. The best attribute of all of the Bone Collector series is their price - big/little/fb (all in walnut) MSRP $155/$135/$125.
Yeah... I like them! Not much for serrated edges... I have dedicated saws.
