Benchmade/Brend

Boxy little guy you got there , how are the ergonomics ? Does it poke your hand in pocket ?

Cool beans :)

**oops , I assumed it had a pocket clip , I guess a thorough look at the pics would have been more in order :D

Haven't used it, I have just a few knives that I picked up to 'collect', and this is one of them. It's comfy in hand, the 45 degree cut at the ends seems like it would keep the handle from digging in too badly in a saber grip.

Knife is clipless and has a sheath, which is how I would carry it. Well, I wouldn't use the 15 year old nylon sheath it has, but I have a couple horizontal ones I got cheap at the PX. Carried a SERE Attack like that for a while, around 4 o'clock on my belt.

Thanks for the pic.

BTW, Brend designed a knife almost exactly like that for Boker.

(The Boker version used 440C; had G10 scales, a pretty massive
liner lock, and a clip. Actually there were 3 versions of it....)

I've had one of those since before I got 'into' knives. I beat the tar out of it, and it has many battle scars to prove it. It gets no use anymore, as the liner is a little thin for comfort. The aluminum scales are not too sharp, and not too slippery. A nice piece of Benchmade history for sure, but they've come a long way in regards to quality production knives.

Benchmade actually made 2 versions of that knife. Your looks like the "combat talon I" since it is clipless and numbered. Another way you can tell is the "combat talon I" has 2 liners, one on each side while the "combat talon II" has only one liner and has a pocket clip, and is not usually numbered.

Notice the odd pivot screw also.

I have both versions and even the blade grind is a little different.
