Benchmade Bugout Polished washer contact?

Hello Everyone,
I just got my Benchmade Bugout (ranger green). I noticed that the blade is also coated at te contact area with the washers. I wonder if I could get the action to be even smoother when I polish that area. Do you think that this is possible?

I wouldn't bother. Just apply a little lube.

What kind of coating is Benchmade using these days? Some coatings have a lower coefficient of friction than steel.
