Anyone have experience and/or a preference for these knives? They seem be be very similar as to specs and performance. I have knives from both Benchmade and White River and am very happy with their companies and their products. Just wondering how these two knives compare.

I've handled both. I'll vote for the WR Ursus 45.

1. As a member of the big paw club (2xl glove), I found the Ursus 45 more comfortable in my hand. The handle of the 162 is shorter and has the little "hook" by the pommel to help lock in your hand. If you have a small or med hand, the 162 will be fine.

2. CPM S35VN > S30V

3. I'm not a big fan of leather sheaths. I like kydex. I know some folks love leather and hate kydex (scratches) but I'd give the sheath edge to the 45 too. YMMV.

The handle on the Ursus is SO much more comfortable than the Benchmade.
