It seems like most people are into the Benchmade CLA lines for it clean looks and pocket friend carry ability. I got turned on to the Casbah almost by accident and was my first BM automatic. Now that I'm on my second winter with it, I'm realizing that it has become my winter EDC because I can run it with medium weight gloves on and it has an amazing amount of handle traction for a folder it's size. I think another side benefit is that the handle is all plastic and doesn't translate cold. If your hands are wet and cold, this is the knife for you.

Casbah: Best for Winter EDC?

I agree that the Casbahs are excellent knives. I have two. The black one with a combo blade is the auto that I carry most often when I am out and about, winter or summer. I rarely need gloves, but the traction you speak of is also valuable when my hands are sweaty in summer.

I bought a BM Casbah when PA made auto knives legal.
Ok really like it for daily carry........it is lighter to carry than my Pro-tect and I do like the grip texture.
