Benchmade CF 770, still considered a ...

Hey Chris, watcha doin' here??? I thought you were a watch nut!!!

Yeah the 770 is a great knife, it was my EDC for a few years until the carbon fiber cracked near the clip. Then the clip would swivel and not stay in place. Sent it to Benchmade for repair, which they couldn't do because they no longer had CF handles. They sent me a 773 and a $60 credit. I hate aluminum handles so I gave it to my son and bought a 705 (G-10 handle) and a few 960 (1 stainless steel w/wood insert and 2 with pearl inserts). All are exceptional knives.

I still think that's the greatest lock ever made.

I had one and was impressed, but the blade wasn't heavy enough for the kind of Axis Fun that I get from my 710.

To clarify, that big photo above is a 705, not the 770. (I know barcbsa knows that, but I wanted to make sure people don't confuse them. I wonder if I took a photo of my 770 when I had it...)

I've got a few CF-handled folders: a 770, a Delica, and a WH Kestrel. The 770 is by far my favorite of the three, but I only carry it as a gent's knife on special occasions.

I know that you're in NY state - so you're limited to sub-4" blades - but the new Spyderco CF Military is mighty tempting....
