Still trying to choose a new black or blue class benchmade, saw the Benchmade Mini DeJavoo 745 Manual Knife online looks cool, any reviews..but a liner lock..not sure about that...

benchmade does a lot of things well but imo liner/frame locks are not one of them.

what exactly are you looking for? if you could provide length, weight, budget, blade shape preferences that will get you a lot more help.

without having any of that info, my personal recommendation out of Benchmade's current lineup is the 710 but I like larger knives.

I just got the bone collector and i love that knife...I perfer a drop point blade 3-3.5 inch blade, 120 bucks, i perfer g-10 handles..I was interested in the 950 rift..but that reverse tanto blade is gimmicky to me..i am looking at that BM 14205....so what do u suggest?

14205 is a fine choice if a touch heavy. I like the 520 as well but that's really quite heavy and aluminum.

Anything designed by Warren Osborne is a winner. The 940/943 series is my personal favorite.

I like my 740/745 Deja's, but if you're leery of locking liners and want Axis models the 14205 is a great choice, also pickup a 14210 as a smaller alternative.

Also as has been said, check out a 943 Osborne...they're good knives and easy to carry.

i had a mini dejavoo and it was really nice. i edc'd it for a few months. there were a few things i didn't like about it. i didnt like the smooth g10 and it had no grip it was super slick. also the detent on it was horribly weak. it opened in my pocket a couple times- i dont used a clip i just let it loose in my pocket- and it poked my thigh once but no damage done. it was an amazing bagel slicer though.

edit: now once it was open the lockup was super solid and i had no fear of accidentally disengaging it, just the closed retention was bad.

My friend DJ says the Deja's are his "Cheese slicers" and for good reason with that high flat grind. They DO flick easily and I would also prefer a bit more texture on the scales.
