My uncle left me a whole bunch of things when he moved and this knife was among them. It has a couple scratches and everything is in place. id say the quality is used but still good. how much do u think i can sell it for? the scratches are on the blade and are light from regular use.

As this is your first post I want to welcome you, but encourage you to please view the rules around selling here. You must be a gold member to sell.

Now, if it is a cqc7, he left you a gem of a knife. it may not have a huge cash value but it is a nice knife and benchmade has a lifesharp service. You can send it to them to have a factory razor edge put back on it.

As a basic member, you can trade here. I think you might receive some interesting trade offers.

You can also do a search fo the benchmade model 970 and read more about it.

i would say ~$75 or so, maybe a little more depending on the condition..

any wear at all just kills any collector value on MOST stuff.

i see... i was thinking of selling on ebay lol. how do u get gold member status?
do u think i should keep it or sell it. trade offers as in other knife offers? lol

it is a CQC. didnt see the little dash for the q

and definantly not collectors value

Keep it! Especially if you aren't used to high quality knives. Just don't mess the blade up trying to sharpen it if you don't know how to do it properly, that was my mistake with my first nice knife....

Yeah I'd keep it too. Those are becoming more rare. Got any pictures of it you can share with us?

If you keep it, you will have a very nice knife. If it is not the style you prefer, I am pretty sure you can trade around easily.

There is a link on the top of the page to upgrade to gold and above. Stick around for a bit and see if you like the forums enough to put up a little money to support it.

If you decide to trade, let me know. I may have something you would consider.

To add,

I had one of those knives and sold it to a friend. He bought it for his wife, who carries it on duty. I do regret selling it.

I have a Benchmade 975 which, at that time Emerson was designing for BM and it says "Emerson Design" on the blade, is probably a CQC7 or very similar. It has ATS-34 steel. I'd say: Keep it!

Does yours look like this?

the 975 was a CQC7 w/a 3.8" blade vs a 3.4 IIRC, point being its the same thing w/a longer blade.

Hold onto it. A couple of years ago Blade Mag. had a listing of the top 10 tactical folders of the last decade. The Benchmade CQC7 was number one on the list. The blade shape may not be for everyone, but it is a modern classic.

I have to admit, I'd never buy another chisel ground blade again...I don;t think. I've cut everything under the sun with that folder, but it hasn't always been as effective as it could've been, and left me wishing I had one of my other "v-grind" blades with me. I do love that folder, though! It was July 1996, and I think I paid about $120 for that knife. Up to that point, that was almost twice what I paid for any knife.

Although at one time it was one of Benchmade's big sellers (late '90's), so many were made that old BM CQC7's aren't exactly rare. You'd be lucky to get more that $75 if it was mint.

not true a LNIB 970 or 975 would bring over $100, a std model ~$150 some of the rare ones can bring several hundred dollars.

i'll buy all i can get in LNIB shape at $75 lol, any offers lol?
