Anyone have experience ordering directly from Benchmade? I placed my order on the 13th and it has yet to be shipped. Apparently the order is still being processed. Is this unusually long or am I just being super impatient? :confused:
 
I have placed several orders with them directly. All usually ship within a week. The most recent order took a bit longer because they were waiting on materials to be finished.

Thanks for the response Jonearlt. I ordered the Balisong 62T.
 
I have purchased many Benchmades directly from them and I must say their shipping is pretty slow (not cheap either). Although it often takes quite awhile to get to you, I have yet to have one not make it. They usually give you a tracking number once it has shipped. I would worry too much, just be patient.
 
I placed an order Friday and then called to inquire as to a ship date. They said my order wasn't due to ship until the 27th. That's been par for the course when I've ordered direct in the past.

Supposedly when you order direct they build your knife to order, they don't just take it off the shelf and ship it. That's what two CS reps have told me so I believe that's the case.

So yes, it's not unusual for it to take that long.

Thanks for the post. I guess that's reassuring that their shipping is slow rather then my order being misplaced or lost.

Big help thanks! I have no problem waiting a bit longer if they truly build my knife to order.

Yes, they truly build it to order. I called them this morning on an unrelated matter and while I had them on the phone asked again and they confirmed that when you order direct, they do in fact build the knife to order and that's why it takes so long to ship. They build them in the order received so it's a matter of how many people are ahead of you and them getting to yours.

But rest assured all is well and you will receive your knife.

BTW You can call them with your order# and they will tell you the estimated ship date. At least you'll have some idea of when to expect it. Plus they usually send you an e-mail when it ships with tracking too. I don't know where in the country you are but I'm on the East Coast so it usually take a full week for me to get my order once it ship's. I have two friends who live closer to the factory and they get their's much,much faster. So depending on where you are will effect how long that part takes.

I actually only live 6 hours away from the factory, so shipping should be pretty quick. Feels like I'm getting a custom knife! haha. Again, thanks for asking and letting me know.
 
I've ordered a few blades directly off their website and they seem to take awhile to ship the stuff out.. Worth the wait!

Glad I could help. Like I said my current order is expected to take a full week before it ships so I'm guessing that's about the turnaround at the moment. Just give them a call and they'll let you know the expected ship date.

Aside from the CBM program, why would one EVER order directly from them? You're paying way more than market price.
 
I buy directly because of the LEO discount. The cheapest place for the knife I purchased was still 40 bucks more.
