I know I ask a lot of recommendation questions, but this one is really bugging me. I'm looking for a large folder to EDC for use during work. Ill mainly use it for cutting rope, plastic cord, boxes and possibly even outdoors activities. I really like the m4 steel on the contego, but I like the design of the 0561. Also I'm pretty hard on knives. If you have experience with either of these knives or can recommend another knife that's similar let me know and help me quell my knife addiction.lol.thanks

I have both. In fact, I now have two of both. I will be of no help to you...

Get Both!

Consider the KnifeWorks dealer exclusive Contego M390. A unique limited edition piece with great steel, smoother G-10 and only slightly more than the regular Contego with M4.

Definitely the Contego. The 0561 is nice but I personally could never warm up to it

The ergos on the 810 are strange at first but if you're willing to let it grow on you it's a solid knife to say the least. M4 is no joke.

The only thing I did to mine was lightly sand the sharp edges on the G10, but that was personal preference on my part.

Sorry, no experience with the ZT.

Multiples of each here too. If it could be only one RamZar gave you the answer. The KW M390 Contego.

The 810 is a hell of an overall knife.

One thing is for sure once you wrap your hand around it it's not coming out unless you release it.

The only difference that may matter to you between the two is that the contego's aggressive handles produce hot spots on your hand with extended use or if you're gripping hard when using the knife. I like the M4 over the Elmax, but the M4 is coated and will wear with heavy use. Only for that reason would I choose the Elmax over the M4. Other than that, they run pretty close depending who you talk to.

I have fondled both and was in the same predicament.....which one do i buy? Well, I can say that after holding the contego I was hooked....IMMEDIATELY! You get the same feeling the first time you hold a BK9! Its like the heavens open, all problems go away and you instantly feel as if you have conquered all your enemies and fulfilled all of your dreams!!

pretty intense

I think I'm going to go for the Contego. I can get that for cheaper anyways. Thank you for all of your feedback!

I have only handled the 0516, and feel that i was pretty solid, but I trust the axis lock more than any other knife lock, but that is just my preference.
