I saw one of these in the case at a local gun/knife shop and was wondering if this is a desirable piece. I'm not sure, but I think the blade might've been the larger sized BM.
Anybody know how good the build quality is on these? At $240 the price is out of my league, but maybe someone else in Alabama is interested. I'll give contact info if anyone is interested.

Was this made by emerson (auto feature) or was it an after market upgrade by someone else? How does the auto work, pushbutton?

Pushbutton auto made by benchmade with their licensed copy of the CQC7 Tanto blade. Scales are aluminum in the shape of the CQC7.

I purchased one of those several years ago for use on duty.It is the same size as their 975.I got rid of it after approx. two months for several reasons. It was too big(already over burdened with equipment) and it began to wear out(way too quickly).I believe the fact that there aren't any liners caused the rapid wear. Also since it had the longer blade of their other models,it opened slower that I liked.Since I've retired from that job,I've gone back to manual openers and find I can open them just as fast or faster than any autos I've handled in the past, plus the don't open in Your pocket(what an eye opening experience to say the least!).tom.

I had one of the Benchmade autos for about a year but eventually traded it,I'm not a big fan of autos and IMHO you really can't open it quicker than a manual. I had the larger version and it was a bit slower than the smaller ones but it was a good solid knife. In fact I liked the design so much I recently purchased a NIB manual one.The knife store I traded it to said that it did not last long in their display case.
