Benchmade Crooked River Butterfly Logo Position?

Hey all,

I'm an avid admirer of the full-size Benchmade Crooked River. It's a wonderful looking knife. I may never own one because it's just too dear in Australia when factoring in the import costs that legitimate resellers have to account for. But maybe one day!

Something I've noticed while browsing is that some of these crooked rivers in the pictures have the butterfly emblem below the thumb stud, and some have it to the side above the bevel.

Here are two images showing this from the same listing from a seller:

Is this a sign that one or the other is some kind of fake? Or (and I'm guessing more likely) did Benchmade change its location some time in production?

Would appreciate some insight :)

i can’t say for sure that it’s the case for the crooked river, but benchmade does move the location & change the content of their laser markings from time to time.

I own both a full size and a mini. The full size I bought from a authorized retailer(bass pro shop) and the logo is below the thumbstud. And the minini bought directly from benchmade through the custom knife builder and the logo is next to the thumb stud. So I would guess maybe it varies batch to batch.

I've got both the full and the mini, both direct from Benchmade (custom shop). Both have the Butterfly next to the thumbstud.

Just checked old pics. The standard and mini I had both had the butterfly sitting next to (beside) the thumb stud. Bought both brand new from authorized dealers.
