I went to my local knife dealer a couple days ago and while talking and handling many knives he asked if i had handled the new dejavoo. I had seen them online and thought wow bob lum with benchmade but wasnt real excited about the knife. It has a liner lock and is kinda plain. I thought that if im going to get a lum collaboration ill just wait until the spyderco lum chinese folder with ZDP comes out (that project keeps getting pushed back but thats another story)
So my dealer hands me the large lum and first of all i must say that it is Big and much lighter then i thought it would be (large 4.1 oz small 3.5oz per BM website) the machined G10 is very smooth but it fits my hand perfectly nice ergos. the blade is nice shape and would be a good for gerneral use and utility. i opened the knife and it locked up very solid with no blade play at all. Here is the kicker though........ this has to be the smoothest opening knife ive ever handled. I could literally hold the handle and open the knife with a flick of the wrist. this was done without using the hole or loosening the pivot ... it was just blade enertia (this worked slightly better with the large because it has a heavier blade)
This is one SWEET KNIFE! i walked in thinking it was blah i walked out convinced i would own one. You can find them online for 120ish which is good for a knife of this caliber.
the only cons i could come up with are that it is tip down right hand carry only.
