I have been using mine for several years, it is still beautiful, (will post pic soon)

My question is, will benchmade replace the blade and fix scales that are stripped? (One screw is stripped)

It is still a solid knife, I just wonder if it may be time to upgrade this beauty of mine a bit more. Thoughts?

That knife has been out of production for a really long time, the likelihood of spare parts is very, very low. The only way to find out is to call Benchmade and ask.

I was told by CS, no replacement blades. They will tune/spa/sharpen and should have some replacement hardware, if I'm remembering correct. Give 'em a call.

Mine was upgraded w/ female hardware for scale screws by previous owner, thru' BM, I believe. I have considered custom scales for it, but it is so solid, zero play in any direction...gonna leave well enough along for the moment.

I was recently told by Benchmade that they have not had replacement parts for the Spec War for quite a while.

That didn't stop me from getting one just to have as part of my old school collection.

They must've made a whole lot of these knives. Dated back to '98 even today run a search on eBay and there will usually be a dozen or more for sale. Partially serrated are easier to find, hardest are BK coated plain edged variants. There were two sizes; the 3" 970 and the nearly 4" 975 (harder to find still...) Posters above are accurate, there are most certainly no spares available parts-wise. But good news is these were built like tanks and most just need regular maintenance to keep going for another 20 years.
