Benchmade Emersons compared to Emersons?

I recently bought a very lightly used Benchmade Emerson CQC-7 knife. I have never handled an Emerson knife so I was wondering how my knife would compare to an Emerson CQC-7. Are they comparable in materials and workmanship?
I'm not sure this knife is for me but I got it for a song so I thought I'd try to keep an open mind and give it a shot. Who knows, maybe I can love a knife that isn't a titanium framelock or button lock. It looks like I just might have to buy an Emerson so that I can compare the 2.

I have owned examples of both. The Benchmades are comparable in quality/construction. I do however now insist that all my folding knives be waved........

i dont like the BM version as they are tip down vs tip up. but as far as F&F go they are about the same imho, no better/no worse.

for edc the EKI is better, its waved(some are anyway), &tip up carry.

also imho the SOCFK is better than either.

Forgot to mention that...the Emersons give you a choice of tip up or tip down. I prefer tip up and waved.

Thanks for the info guys. Tip down carry isn't a deal breaker for me. I'm one of those strange people that actually prefer it.
