Hi I am new to this forum so bear with me. I had a Benchmade auto CQC-7 at one time but traded it,the knife was alright I'm just not a fan of autos. Benchmade makes a manual version of this knife does anybody know the model number of the large partally serrated knife?
Also could someone tell me the difference between the CQC-6,& and 8 ?
Thanks for the help.

The benchmade model number was 975s for the beadblasted version and 975sbt for the version with the black teflon coating also known as bt2. Hope that helps.

Benchmade made two sizes, one with a 4" blade (the 975), and one with a 3.49" blade (the 970). Of course the BT2 and combo-edge variations offered on both made for your 970SBT, 975S, 975BT, etc.

IMHO, as a die-hard BM fan, the Emerson Knife Company offering is better. BM's version had 2-56" frame screws which were tapped into the opposite-side's G10 scale rather than into the liner or threadserts like what BM uses now on newer models.

The 970/975 series have long been discontinued, but they pop up for sale at the For Sale forum every now and again. However, for a user, I again recommend the improved structural integrity of Emerson's version. Just my .01.

Grant, in response to your question abot the difference between a CQC-6 and '8 you NEED to check out the "Emerson Custom Count, Glossary" thread on this forum. All of the customs and some information are pictured there. It's an awsome work that's constantly being updated, thanks to the members of this forum. I refer to it all the time.

A word of warning is in order.....looking at customs breeds DESIRE for customs....
