Benchmade Griptilian 555-1 fake?

Hey guys, so I have a question regarding my 551-1. I purchased the knife from bladehq. The knife is supposed to have 20CV blade steel, but mine says S20V. I don’t think S20V is even a steel. Everything else about the knife is perfect. I hope this knife isn’t fake. Just wondering what you guys think.

if you upload the pics to imgur or photo bucket, all free, on the the page with your pics, not the browser address bar, a url is provided for you. It will be titled something like IMG url. Just copy n paste it into your message.

Wow that is messed up. The knife doesn't look like a fake but I can't see the whole knife. The blade steel should be 20CV. I will send this to our team. Thanks.
 
I would expect it to be 100% legit coming from BladeHQ. I wonder if someone messed up marking the blade in the manufacturing process?

Maybe call BladeHQ and have them check some of their stock for the same issue?
 
That's not what any of my -1 blades say, and they were all bought at different times in the production series. Also, my 551-1 has BM's website URL in very tiny print under the Mel Pardue logo. The pivot screw looks a little odd to me, but that may just be the lighting in the photo. Be interesting to see what the other side of the blade looks like, and to see the whole knife at various angles.

BladeHQ is a very reputable dealer. I've never gotten anything questionable from them, or heard of anyone else getting something fake from them.

New wonder steel, s20v? Haha! I wouldn't doubt it's genuine being from blade hq, but that is weird. Like someone got confused and instead of S30v they put 20. Misstroke on the keyboard?
